What sets the BMC Mentorship Program apart is its intentional, data-driven approach. The Center pairs its undergraduate and graduate real estate students with industry executives and alumni according to shared interests, but the match is refined using more than just a resume.
The MSRE mentorship program paired up 49 students, and the undergraduate program paired up 105 students, a record number for this program.
The program utilizes the McQuaig behavioral assessment tool, a resource used in career coaching to determine where a student’s inherent behavioral profile aligns with the various disciplines of real estate. This process is designed to match a student's true strengths and passions with an area of the industry where they are most likely to flourish—ensuring that students don't have to "fake it to make it."
“He was exceptionally curious, highly engaged, and consistently appreciative of the time, opportunities, meetings, and learning exercises we shared. I have been participating in this program for nearly a decade in almost every semester, and Andrew stood out as one of the very best I have worked with. He was by far the most eager to learn, the most professional, and, importantly, the most diligent in following up (a lot of the time it ends up being the other way around).” Robert Gettinger MSRE ‘15
“Robert Gettinger was always very professional and always willing to answer any questions I had about real estate. It was very interesting to learn how his career in real estate began in urban planning, moving toward developing his own real estate firm. I appreciate learning about how he interacts with clients and what kind of information they would discuss. His insights about potential development projects were very interesting to hear about, too. Robert was also a very nice person and was always gracious to me. I hope Robert and I are able to stay in touch.
Thank you very much for allowing me to partake in the mentorship program. It has helped me grow as a student and an aspiring real estate professional.” Andrew Forgiarini’ 26
